Deerfoot Media was established in 2016 by Doug Bennett.  The name Deerfoot was chosen in honor of the owner's lineage to his Great Grandfather 5x removed, Deerfoot (Louis Bennett).  As a young man in the 1860's, Deerfoot's athletic abilities gained him recognition among American and English sport enthusiasts, which was uncommon for Native Americans at the time; his prowess even gained him sponsorship with a whisky company, named Deerfoot Rye.  Several of his athletic running records stood as late as the 1950s.  While today the spirits of Deerfoot Rye are no longer available to enjoy, the name Deerfoot is honored today within the family, in order to honor a brave Native American, while providing top quality media for the public.
